A New Mutt In The House

One day, not too long ago, our founder, Mary, found herself in immediate need of local dog and pet services. You see, she recently added a rescue dog (an adorable mutt called Sadie Lu) to her family and had no idea of where to go for quality veterinarians, dog grooming and other must-haves.

Sadie Lu, being a young (the Vet guessed her age to be around a year old) fearless, rambunctious soul, soon had Mary looking for additional pet services; like dog obedience training, emergency veterinarian services, and pet sitting / boarding options.

From Tasty Treats to Carpet Cleaning Products

Of course, it didn’t stop there, Mary and her family also needed all kinds of new information—things like what kind of toy can we get her that she won’t tear apart within minutes, where’s the best place to get healthy, tasty treats that we can use to coax her into submission, what places in the area can we take her with us, is there a carpet cleaning product that works on these kinds of stains, and on and on.

They turned to the phone book, their friends and neighbors, and the Internet to find the services and information they needed to care for Sadie. This was quite time consuming and although it worked, information could only be gathered in pieces, answering one need at a time.

The Quest for Information

In their quest, they realized that they weren’t alone. They found that many pet owners were in the same boat—all were constantly looking for pet services and information. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one place, one resource, to go to to find all of your pet care needs?

And that was the idea that sparked the creation of Richmond Pet Lovers.com…
