Join FETCH a Cure this Sunday for their first annual Mutt Strutt to raise awareness about canine cancers and funds to find a cure. Teams of pet lovers from across the city have banded together to solicit donations from friends, family, and neighbors, and will participate in the 1 mile long, dog-friendly Mutt Strutt on Sunday, October 30th from 1pm – 4pm at Bryan Park. The walk will be followed by a vendor fair with activities for kids and pets. The event will also serve as a kick off to November’s Start Seeing SPOTS Campaign, a month-long event during National Pet Cancer Awareness month.
Since 2006, FETCH a Cure has been helping pets enjoy long, healthy lives with the families that love them. Through FETCH a Cure’s Companions in Crisis program, pet owners can receive financial aid to pay for the life-saving treatments their pet requires.
Chloe, an 8 year old lab mix, is one of the many lucky recipients of FETCH a Cure’s support. After being diagnosed with Lymphoma, and her owners heard about the Companions in Crisis program through her vet, Dr. Fulmer, at the Veterinary Emergency Center.
Chloe responded very well to chemotherapy treatments, and is now in full remission. Her owner is so grateful to have Chloe happy and healthy; here’s what she had to say:
I would like to say Thank You to the kind and generous people of Fetch A Cure. Without your support I may not have gotten the assistance I needed to allow Chloe to have the medical treatment necessary to save her life. You are allowing pet owners to cherish every moment they have with their pets during these trying times by taking a bit of the financial burden of their shoulders.
Bring your family (including your pet) down to Bryan Park this Sunday to support an amazing Richmond-based organization – and stop by our booth and say hello for a chance to win a $25 PetSmart gift card!
