We’re featuring Tulip, from the Richmond Animal League, as part of PetFinder’s Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week. And by “Less Adoptable,” we mean “One of a Kind!”
Remember the dog you had as a kid? The trusty, loving, low-maintenance pet you remember from your childhood? You know, the one who listened to your elementary school secrets and your high school heartaches, who galloped behind you as you played freeze tag in the backyard and napped under the table during Thanksgiving dinners?
Well, that dog has been reincarnated in the form of Tulip, a fantastic black lab/retriever blend who is waiting for her forever home at the Richmond Animal League.
From RAL’s website:
“Hi, I’m Tulip, a female Labrador Retriever mix about 8 yrs old. I came to RAL from another rescue group that closed after the founder passed away. Before coming to RAL, I had surgery to remove some fatty tumors that were attached to my belly. You would be amazed at my trim figure after those awful things were gone.
I’m even trimmer now that I’ve been on a diet. I’ve lost weight since coming to RAL, and I can get around much more easily than I used to. I even laid on my back and rolled around to make snow doggie angels during the recent snow.
I might do better as the only dog in a home. I don’t like some other dogs in my personal space.
I had a pretty difficult early life. I’d love to have my own home and people for my later years.”
If you are interested in meeting Tulip, please contact the Richmond Animal League (804.379.0046 x100) or better yet, visit Tulip during RAL’s adoption hours, Tuesday – Friday 4:30pm – 8pm, and Saturday – Sunday 12pm – 4pm.
